FAQs

Q: Why did you rename The Ram Collective to Rams Legacy?

A: As the collegiate sports landscape has continued to evolve, the word “Collective” has become more and more associated with NIL payouts over and above the revenue share arrangements many schools, including CSU have opted-in for. While brokering NIL deals for current CSU athletes was part of our original scope, we feel we can add a lot more value to the student-athletes that play and graduate from CSU by offering them networking and mentoring opportunities across our community of former players.

Q: Couldn’t CSU still benefit from having a Collective entity in place?

A: No, not really as any school that has opted-in to the rev share plan that fails to meet the $20.5 Million threshold doesn’t merit a lot of outside NIL interest that isn’t already being brokered through MMR channels. This is where CSU falls which in part was what led to the dissolution of The Green & Gold Guard. As the CSC continues to scrutinize this MMR deals, it’s possible the need for Collectives could resurface.

Q: Will The Ram Collective continue to offer NIL opportunities to CSU Student Athletes?

A: While we will continue to facilitate NIL deals on an opportunistic basis, we’re not actively pursuing those types of relationships in favor of our renewed focus on networking and mentoring our current players.

Q: Is The Ram Collective officially affiliated with Colorado State?

A: No, other than having attended and played there ourselves we have no official affiliation with the University or Athletic Department at this time. However, we fully support their efforts and highly recommend all our members and supporters to give to The Ram Athletic Fund for the betterment of all our programs
